Relationships are hard
We all know that. It’s just so hard to find someone you can trust. And it’s even harder when it comes to online relationships between your business and future customers. So how can you overcome the trust issues you have with your potential users and clients? To answer that, we need to ask another important question-
What’s the single most important factor in today’s online marketing? Well, to be honest there’s a few, but in my view it’s fair to say one of the most critical aspects of inbound marketing is personalization.
There’s a huge difference between buying my bread and other baked goods at the supermarket and buying them at my neighborhood bakery, with Manny, the nice clerk who knows my sons’ names, where I buy my family’s birthday cakes. And the difference is I’m familiar with Manny, he knows me; he knows what I like, he knows who I am. And I know him; I know I can trust him, I know the prices in the bakery, I know where everything is. Fact is, I feel much more relaxed and secure going there than any other place.
Why is that? It’s because we feel much more comfortable when facing a familiar place or a familiar face. In much the same way, we feel more comfortable and relaxed when faced with a familiar interface online.
That’s probably why I feel so much more comfortable registering to a website through social login. Apart from the obvious easiness and blessed speed the social login process offers, it makes me feel both secure with my social network cloak, and familiar being treated as a returning visitor each time I want to login.
Establishing Relationships with Social Login
We need to remember that in a world of constant advertising interventions and endless stream of marketing attempts, users today are in need of a stable, familiar, almost intimate relationship with whomever they choose to handle their interactions with. So if you’re an online business, you need to offer your users that feeling of familiarity, and no better way to do that than enabling them to Login or sign-in with their already existing social identities.
